Juice me!

So I had dinner with Mei and Lee, and afterwords Lee had to jet. So Mei and I decided to go on an adventure….

The winners!

Hey everyone, I’ve got some exciting news. I’ve got a lot of new editing programs and I just ordered some epic new headphones so you can expect something cool relatively soonish. For those of you who watched my Gone to Texas video entry I’ve decided to post the winners so you can see theirs. I want to congratulate them all, especially Lee, who I had dinner with a few nights ago. He’s a great guy and definitely deserved first place.

Home, Sweet Home

Alright, so it’s finally here. I’m finally on the nicest campus in texas walking among my brightest peers. I’m kinda on cloud nine. For you ATX virgins, Jester is the biggest and “nastiest” of all of the UT dorms with a 3,000 student capacity. One of those three thousand is yours truly. I frigging love it; here’s a video tour.

I kind of jumped into things there, let me back up. I’ve actually been in austin about a week now; I went to thing little thing called “Camp Texas” last week, and that was a blast. 3 days on the lake with a bunch of incoming freshman, so much fun. From there, I came back and my parents and my brother Joseph were here with my shit for move in. We met up with my great Aunt for the first time in decades, and it was a lot of fun. She’s live in ATX all her life and knows the ins-and-outs of this place. Here’s a little after dinner picture we took.

So after move in, Rachel and I went on some adventures. We’ve already made a year’s worth of memories by simply exploring the buildings on this huge campus. We’ve found so many cool little things around like this meditation room which I plan to try out when classes start.

Along with the meditation room we happened to find a ton of free stuff. When I say a ton, I mean a TON. Check this out, and this isn’t even all of it…

Austin really is full of crazy adventures and I can’t wait to share more of them with you all, but I need to get going. I’m going to see Inception in IMAX tonight. I’m so excited. I’ve never seen an IMAX movie, but I think this is the perfect one for it.

Some more GTT Videos.

Hey everyone. Quick update with my personal life; I’m sitting in a hospital waiting room while my grandmother’s knew replacement surgery is under way, and after that is taken care of, I’m headed to ATX to work out some kinks in financial aid and to go dorm shopping. I leave for good in six days, it’s so surreal! So last week I posted my video entry to Gone To Texas and since then a few of my friends have posted their own entries, so I figured I’d share them with you.

Rachel Deinhart: The musician behind my video and one of my first real life longhorn friends. She once gave me an iPhone when mine broke and she facebook chats me through work every morning, I’m sure she’ll be in quite a few adventures of mine.

I actually don’t know this guy at all, but I drove through Buna at like 6 AM this morning.

Mei Makino: Another fellow RTF student, we’ve briefly seen each other at orientation, but mostly communicate through FB chat. Again, I feel like she will be a part of future adventures.

Lee Mendez: I don’t know this fellow that well yet, we text every now and then, but his video is pure brilliance, he definitely deserves the gold. Good Luck, Lee.

Hi. I’m Rustin.

Hey everyone. I know I’ve been gone for some time, but I’m back with a new and improved blog. For a few years now I’ve rambled on about pointless encounters of my high school days, but not anymore! No, no, no my friends, that’s all over now. Now, my blog has a specific purpose. What is this, you may ask; to track my adventures as a Texas Longhorn. Now, I’m going to spare you the boring and aggravating stuff and replace all of that with exciting news like this: There’s a competition for incoming freshman at the university to submit their 30 second videos with the same script and the winner gets a free iPad. So I spent a few hours and put together a little sketch video, and I thought you might want to see. Enjoy!
